I wish they all did. We have some old enough to still have square nuts, and it’s very annoying.
Also, the threads where the hose connects isn’t universal. Fire trucks will often carry adapters so they can connect to hydrants from other departments if they’re called in for assistance and they know that a neighboring department has different threads on their hydrants.

They have replaced them here with a “safety” system to avoid “street-pooling” which was quite common on some neighborhoods.
